Pottery sherd loot table

Hi there
I'm making a datapack, and need blocks that can be used for custom recipes. Only issue is, i've run out.
So I was thinking of removing pottery-sherds in their entirety (since no one uses them). So that they won't drop from any item, won't spawn in any chest etc.
How would one go about this?
